2. West Bromwich Albion have confirmed Joleon Lescott has moved to the Hawthorns on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old has 26 England caps to his name and returns to the Midlands - where he made his name with the Baggies Black Country rivals Wolves - after a five-year stint with Manchester City, winning the Premier League twice.
3. West Ham United have completed the signing of Senegalese midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate on a four-year deal from Anderlecht.
Kouyate, capped 11 times by Senegal, moves to Upton Park for an undisclosed fee.
He helped Anderlecht win four league titles after joining them in 2008.
"I am very happy because today West Ham have given me the chance to play in the Premier League," said the 24-year-old.
"For my part, I'm going to try to do great things here and try to improve further still as a player."
Kouyate, who played for Senegal against Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics, can also play in defence.
West Ham joint-chairman David Sullivan told the club website: "We hope to have at least four more signings in place by the time we kick off against Tottenham on 16 August as we aim for at least a top-10 finish."
Kouyate is the Hammers' second new addition of the summer, following Argentine striker Mauro Zarate.
4. Fulham have signed defender Shaun Hutchinson from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old centre-back turned down a new deal at Fir Park to join the west London club, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Hutchinson joined the Steelmen from Wallsend Boys Club in 2007 and made over 140 appearances for the club.
He has signed an initial two-year contract at Craven Cottage, with an option for a third year.
Hutchinson becomes Fulham's first signing of the summer.
"Once I learned of Fulham's interest, it was a no-brainer for me and I couldn't wait to get down and get signed," Hutchinson told the Fulham website.
"There's no hiding the fact that going from the SPL to the Championship is a step up, but it's one that I do believe I'm ready for and I can't wait to get started."
Motherwell were set to offer Hutchinson an improved deal but manager Stuart McCall was resigned to losing him, with several other sides interested in his services.
"I had mentioned to his agent that we would offer him slightly improved terms from last season, but it was fairly clear that there was some big hitters looking at him," McCall told his club's website.
"Shaun has been excellent for Motherwell and this move is a reward for all his hard work and dedication.
"We will obviously miss him, but at the same time, we wish him well in what is a superb move."
5. Sunderland have signed former Manchester City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon on a four-year contract.
The Romanian international, 27, played 18 games for the Premier League champions last season but was allowed to leave the club on a free transfer.
Pantilimon is Sunderland's third signing this summer and will vie with Vito Mannone for the number one spot.
"It is a great privilege and honour to join a club like Sunderland," he said.
He joins Jordi Gomez and Billy Jones as manager Gus Poyet's free transfer acquisitions at the Premier League club.
Pantilimon added: "Sunderland have an amazing history and tradition and, of course, passionate fans.
"When I left Manchester City it was important that I chose a club with good ambition and a manager who has the hunger and desire to take the team forward.
"After speaking with the boss, I knew this was the right place and he was the right man. I can't wait to start."
