FRENCH MAN KILLED IN ARGENTINA

father of Cassandra Jean-Michel Bouvier

Gustavo Lasi, the main accused of the rape and murder of two French in 2011, and Cassandre Bouvier Houria Moumni, was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison.

Gustavo Lasi, the main accused of the rape and murder of two French in 2011, and Cassandre Bouvier Houria Moumni, was sentenced Monday to 30 years of imprisonment by the Court of Salta in northwest Argentina.
The three judges ruled that Gustavo Lasi, 27 years old, which weighed on the most evidence, was convicted of raping and killing two young women.
However, Santos Vera, gardener, 34, and Daniel Vilte, a mason of 28 years, challenged by Gustavo Lasi and charged with the same crimes, were acquitted.

"The doubt should benefit the accused"

After 10 weeks of trial, the verdict was surprised because the three accused risked life, but insufficient evidence to Vilte and Vera.
"This award is my analysis of the evidence. It was perhaps not the truth, but we did not miscarriage of justice " , reacted after reading the judgment Jean-Michel Bouvier, father of Cassandra, in tears. "Doubt must favor of the accused " , he has argued.
Gustavo Lasi, 27, who worked occasionally as a guide in the park of the Quebrada de San Lorenzo where young women were found dead , recognized one of the two rapes at the end of the trial, even though its DNA footprint were found on both bodies.
